‘It is heartbreaking’: Father of young man killed in Bradenton Riverwalk park shooting speaks

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — The family of the young man killed at Rossi Park early Sunday attended the first appearance of one of the suspects accused in his death.

“My son, he was a great, great human being. He was always funny, always laughing, a good kid. He never had a problem with nobody,” said Wilfredo Allende Sr. “It is just sad that stuff like this is happening with kids nowadays having these guns.”

Wilfredo Allende Jr., 21, was one of three people shot at the park along the Bradenton Riverwalk this weekend. Police say surveillance video from the park showed a group of friends hanging out before another group showed up and eventually started shooting.

“It turns out that there was probably beef between two individuals that led to them showing up and wanting to fight which then subsequently led to gunfire,” said Capt. Brian Thiers…
