SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A speaking engagement featuring actor and accused rapist Russell Brand will go on as planned at New College of Florida.

“After thoughtful consideration, we have decided to move forward with Russell Brand’s scheduled appearance as part of a broader conversation on society, culture, and free speech,” NCF Director of Public Policy Events Alexandra Nicole Islas wrote in a statement to media outlets on Tuesday.
