BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A pickup truck driver took off after getting into a crash with a Manatee County school bus Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. on April 30. Troopers said the pickup truck driver tried to pass the school bus as it was stopped facing north on 57th Street East in Bradenton.

However, the pickup truck driver “failed to maintain a safe distance” and side-swiped the bus, according to the FHP. The unknown driver then left the scene heading north and eventually turned east onto State Road 64.
