SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The chance for heavy rain continues today for the Suncoast. There remains a 5% to 15% chance of minor and temporary flooding in poor drainage areas and low-lying roads. This could primarily affect drivers during periods of heavy downpours.
We’ll start the day with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the morning hours. There will be breaks in the rain, and at times, some sunshine.
Rain chances will increase during the second half of the day, with thunderstorms becoming more widespread. By evening, storms will shift inland, east of the interstate. Later in the day, a few storms could redevelop near the coast before gradually diminishing…
