Bradenton bar shooting suspect pleads no contest to charges, sentenced to 17 years in prison

A Bradenton bar shooting suspect pleaded no contest on Wednesday to two counts of attempted murder in the second degree and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Bradenton police.

Derrell Scott, 53, was taken into custody in Osceola County less than a year ago as the suspect in a shooting at the Loaded Barrel Tavern, 450 12th St. W., Bradenton. On Wednesday, he was sentenced to 17 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, according to a Bradenton Police Department news release.
