VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – Starting in August, there could be an extra set of eyes in Venice city school zones, all to keep students safe.
The Venice City Council on Tuesday approved an authorization to allow the installation and implementation of school zone speed cameras which could electronically issue tickets for $100 to anyone clocked going 10 mph or more over the posted speed limit during school hours.
