Sarasota man sentenced to 50 years in prison for fatal 2022 shooting in his ex-wife’s home

A Sarasota man who was found guilty of murder by a jury in April in connection to a 2022 shooting that killed a 47-year-old man was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Wednesday, according to court records.

Saladine Fageeh Monroe was found guilty of second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence, according to previous reporting. He was also sentenced to a little more than 21 years in prison for tampering with evidence to run concurrently with the 50-year sentence, according to court records.
