An upper-level ridge and some dry air will keep storms a bit more isolated on Saturday, with rain chances only reaching 30%, although chances will increase slightly away from the coast.
Temperatures will start in the mid-70s Saturday morning. Partly cloudy skies will then allow for plenty of surface heating, pushing temperatures into the low 90s by mid-afternoon. Dewpoints will be in the low- to mid-70s, typical for this time of year, giving us heat indices up over 100, especially east of I-75. If you’re outside this weekend, make sure to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
If you’ll be out on the water on Saturday, expect wind out of the southeast at 10 knots, turning southerly later in the day. Seas will be around 2 feet, with a light chop. Some showers and storms are possible out on the Gulf and near the coast in the early morning Saturday, but the primary rain and storm threat will be in the evening hours.
Sunday will be the same story, with hot temperatures and late afternoon storms. The upper-level ridge will back off a bit, so there will be a better environment for storm development, with scattered showers likely later in the day. 60% chance of rain, with temperatures in the low 90s…
