SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Mote Marine Aquarium announced last week its City Island location will close to the public after July 6. On July 7, staff will begin to prepare for the opening of Mote Science Education Aquarium or Mote SEA.
The new aquarium at Nathan Benderson Park has been under construction since 2020, but is nearing completion.
