NORTH PORT — Florida Power & Light upgrades are on the way for Venice, North Port and Punta Gorda.
FPL’s “smart grid technology” prevented more than 800,000 outages during the 2024 hurricane season, according to FPL officials, but improvements are still planned locally to reduce outages and restore power faster when it is lost.
