School district report cards are out; Sarasota gets an ‘A,’ Manatee a ‘B’

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Area school districts have received report cards from the state on their students’ performance during the past year and both Sarasota and Manatee counties say they’re pleased with the results.

The Florida Department of Education released the 2024-25 School Grades and School Improvement Ratings, with Sarasota County Schools earning an overall “A” rating and the School District of Manatee County earning a “B.”

“This marks the 22nd straight year Sarasota has maintained its “A” grade, underscoring a long-standing focus on student growth, instructional quality, and system-wide accountability,” the district said in a news release Tuesday…
