BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) – Students are set to return to school in Manatee County on August 11.
That’s when school zone speed detection cameras will be back up and running within Bradenton city limits.

Earlier this year, the county suspended the program. However, the City of Bradenton did not.
“I think it’s important to know that these cameras are only active during the school day, so during the summer, they’re not active, and after school hours, they are not active. They are active the entire school day, so that includes when kids are arriving and leaving school and all of the hours in between,” said Bradenton Police Public Information Officer Meredith Censullo.
