Kemp Schuessler Appointed to fill Bradenton City Council Vacancy

BRADENTON — The Bradenton City Council has selected a new council member to serve the City of Bradenton’s Ward 3. The appointment of Kemp Schuessler was approved in a 3-1 vote during the July 23 city council meeting and sworn into office the same day.

The City Council’s Ward 3 seat was formerly filled by Josh Cramer, who vacated the position last month to accept his new role as Chief of the Bradenton Police Department.

According to the city’s code and charter, if any vacancy occurs on the city council (except as a result of a recall election) the remaining city council members shall appoint an eligible person to fill the seat until the next general municipal election, and said appointment shall be only for the unexpired term…
