VENICE — The rebuilding of the South Jetty took a small step forward Friday.
The board of the West Coast Inland Navigation District agreed to a request from the Army Corps of Engineers to conduct core borings along the jetty bulkhead, which extends all the way back to the Crow’s Nest Restaurant, Tavern & Marina, WCIND Executive Director Justin McBride said.
The ACOE needs information about the depth of sediment in the area to determine how deep new pilings will have to be driven, he said…
