NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) – A motorcyclist who North Port Police say twice eluded them while speeding through a neighborhood Aug. 11 has been arrested.
Police said about 9:45 a.m., an officer in an unmarked cruiser spotted a black motorcycle traveling east on West Price Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The officer turned on the vehicle’s radar gun, which clocked the motorcycle at 87 mph.
The officer turned around, activated his lights and siren and gave chase until the motorcyclist, with a large head start, ran a red light at Haberland Boulevard. The officer broke off the chase at that point…
