NORTH PORT — A Venice man was arrested in North Port after twice leading the deputy chief of police on a high-speed chase.
Mason Landon Forfar, 18, 400 block of Shamrock Blvd., is free on $5,500 bond on charges of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, a misdemeanor, along with two counts of fleeing to elude law enforcement with lights and siren active, a felony. His arraignment is on Sept. 12.
According to a North Port Police Department probable cause affidavit, at about 9:42 a.m. Monday, Deputy Chief Chris Morales was driving west on West Price Boulevard near Chamberlain Boulevard when he saw a motorcycle whose rider was wearing a black helmet and black clothing swerving in and out of traffic eastbound on Price at a high rate of speed…
