Restoration in store for iconic Venice residence

VENICE — As Venice prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary, one of the city’s more iconic historic buildings is about to undergo a complete restoration.

Mike and Alice Jeromin, who have wintered on Sanibel Island for the past 25 years, and have themselves restored several historic homes elsewhere, look forward to renovating the three-bedroom, three-bathroom house at the corner of Nassau and Sorrento Streets and making Venice their new permanent home.

“We’re history buffs and Mike has always wanted to restore a Mediterranean,” Alice said. “We happened to visit Venice about two years ago and we just fell in love with it. We walked around on a Saturday morning. We took a historical tour and we had our eyes on that one. Mike has always been into saving homes.”…
