BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Wedding vows and white dresses are not what you would normally expect to see in a medical facility, but one couple tied the knot at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in the name of family.
Melissa and Joe were planning a beach wedding. That was before the bride, Melissa’s grandmother, was admitted to the hospital and became too weak to attend.
The couple decided it was more important to share one of their most important days in one of the most unlikely places, as long as it was with family.
Hospital management at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center then went above and beyond to transform a space into a wedding venue, including flowers, music, and guests.
