SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A shoplifting incident led to a friendly footrace between a Sarasota deputy and a bystander on Wednesday.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a convenience store regarding a shoplifting incident. Officers located the suspect near Pershing Avenue and MLK Way, where a crowd had gathered, prompting the officers to explain what was happening.
