Surveillance video shows teen’s last movements before being found dead in a pond

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB/Gray News) – Law enforcement in Florida released new evidence related to the death of an 18-year-old who went missing earlier this month.

During a media briefing, Manatee County Sheriff released surveillance video and cellphone data related to Giovanni Pelletier’s movements before his death.

Florida Department of Transportation Surveillance footage, timestamped 2:19 a.m. on August 1, near I-75 mile marker 75 and Exit 217 of SR 70, shows a figure believed to be Pelletier crossing I-75, crossing a barrier, and running toward a pond where his body was later recovered, detectives said.

Pelletier’s family said on August 1, he was on vacation in Englewood and got into a car with other cousins to visit family, when he suddenly started “acting erratically.”…
