SARASOTA — A commercial rezone request to eliminate a required community meeting was unanimously approved by the Sarasota County Planning Commission, despite a few pleas to pause the decision from residents.
The rezone request, which involves a busy intersection at Manasota Beach Road and State Road 776, comes just days shy of when the Sarasota County Commission is to decide on whether it will move forward with extending Manasota Beach Road into the Wellen Park community.
