‘Wind event’ left damage at Palmetto mobile home park, officials say

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A “wind event” on Sunday left damage at a mobile home park in Manatee County, according to fire rescue officials.

Crews with the North River Fire District say they were initially dispatched for a reported tornado through Shadow Brook Mobile Home Park, located on 63rd St. E in Palmetto. After arriving, they found strong winds had blown off several carport roofs and spread them across the park.

Photos and videos taken by 10 Tampa Bay News crews at the scene also show the roof of a mobile home park completely blown off. The damage came amid the threat of lightning, downpours, flooding and gusty wind throughout the Tampa Bay area over the weekend…
