VENICE — Sarasota County County commissioners say they want to have a formal discussion about the proposed sale of the beachfront property to its tenant, the nonprofit Hermitage Artists Retreat.
Commissioners voted 5-0 at their meeting Tuesday in Venice to put the topic on a future agenda. They plan to discuss the value of the 9-acre Gulf-front property, what it would take to sell it to the nonprofit, and whether or not to begin negotiations with the nonprofit organization.
