Months-Long Investigation Leads to Seizure of 117 Slot Machines and Apprehension of Suspects with Revoked Visas
SARASOTA, Fla. – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), in a joint operation with the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC), has arrested two men on illegal gambling charges following an extensive investigation. The arrests, which took place on September 2 at the Magic Arcade, mark a significant blow to illegal gambling operations in the county.
Mevin Rodrigues, 28, and Dylan Cardoso, 30, were taken into custody at the Magic Arcade, located at 5624 Swift Road. The arrests were the culmination of a months-long investigation that had been launched in response to citizen complaints regarding illicit gambling activities.
Armed with a search warrant for the establishment and arrest warrants for the suspects, law enforcement officials executed the operation, seizing 117 slot machines and an undisclosed amount of currency.
