NORTH PORT — The BayFlite air medical program has temporarily relocated from the North Port Fire Department to the Venice Municipal Airport while renovations are underway at the North Port facility.
In a press release from Air Methods, which owns Bayflite, the company said the 15-mile move does not affect the Sarasota County service area.
The renovations at the North Port Fire Rescue facility are expected to last 18 to 24 months. In the meantime, BayFlite 2 will continue operating its EC-135, staffed by a critical care flight crew, including a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic…
