Sarasota Celebrates 15 Years of Friendship with Mérida at First Hispanic Heritage Fiesta and Fundraiser

The Sister Cities Association of Sarasota is gearing up to host its First Hispanic Heritage Fiesta and Fundraiser on September 17, celebrating the 15th anniversary of its partnership with Mérida, Mexico, with an evening of food, music, and cultural exchange from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Eagle in Sarasota, FL, as per the City of Sarasota’s release.

Highlighting the event will be Mérida’s City Commissioner Juan de Dios Colli Pinto, accompanied by live Mariachi performances, a cooking demo by Chef Amalia award-winning for her culinary expertise, and an array of authentic street tacos, with wine and beer included in each ticket purchase. “This celebration is more than a party—it’s a tribute to the enduring friendship between our communities,” said Grisell Alemán, City Director for Mérida, in her expression of the significance of the fiesta, her remarks provided by the Sister Cities Association of Sarasota.
