2 injured after driver hits gas instead of brake, slams into Sarasota business: police

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were taken to the hospital Monday after a car slammed into a Sarasota business, police said.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at a business located off Bahia Vista Street, according to the Sarasota Police Department.

Officers said the vehicle was sent crashing into the business after the driver mistakenly pressed the gas instead of the brake.

Two people who were inside the business were injured, according to authorities.
