Tommy Bahama reopens restaurant bar and store in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — The newly renovated Tommy Bahama restaurant in Sarasota reopens its doors on Wednesday, a year after it was destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Helene.

Tommy Bahama has been a part of the St. Armands community since the opening of its second restaurant and store there in 1996. However, due to its growing popularity, the company was forced to transform the entire space into a restaurant and move the retail store to a separate building.

Now, the restaurant and store are once again reunited. With the reopening of this establishment, guests are able to eat, drink, and shop all under one roof.

“We lost some vital energy when we separated our retail and restaurant about 15 years ago, and then we recently lost the restaurant to hurricanes and faced a decision. We’ve been looking for an opportunity to combine the two again and jumped when this space became available,” said Tommy Bahama CEO Doug Wood. “We’re so passionate about our history at St. Armands and recognize what a special place this is in the Sarasota community.”…
