90 veterans return home after 1st Honor Flight at SRQ in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – Thousands of community members, families, local students, and residents gathered at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport Tuesday night to welcome 90 veterans home from their Honor Flight.

This was the first-ever flight to depart from the Sarasota airport, marking a major milestone for veterans living in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

Veterans that attended served in conflicts overseas, including Vietnam, Korea, and more recent wars. 16 women were a part of the trip.
