‘Super speeder’ in Holmes Beach nabbed doing 90 in a 35 mph zone, police say

HOLMES BEACH, Fla. (WWSB) – Holmes Beach Police wrote a whopper of a speeding ticket Oct. 8, the department said on social media.

At about 12:30 a.m., an officer saw a blue Mercury traveling east on Manatee Avenue at high speed. The officer’s radar showed the vehicle was going 90 mph in a 35 mph zone.

After stopping the vehicle, the driver told the officer he was on his way home from work. The driver was issued a criminal citation with a mandatory court date…
