The Bradenton Police Department hosted its first citywide National Night Out block party on October 7 — and it was a big success! National Night Out (NNO), a nationwide community policing initiative launched in the 1980s, is designed to strengthen the bond between neighbors and law enforcement while fostering a true sense of community.
For many years, Bradenton neighborhoods hosted individual NNO gatherings, which BPD officers proudly attended. While those events helped build strong neighborhood connections, one element was missing — the whole community.
This year, BPD took a new approach by hosting a single, citywide event that brought together residents, City departments, and community partners for an evening of fun, food, and connection.
