Sarasota motorcyclist critically injured in four-car hit-and-run crash on Fruitville Road

A 64-year-old Sarasota motorcyclist was critically injured Monday night in a four-vehicle crash on Fruitville Road that ended with one driver fleeing the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers said the crash happened around 7:52 p.m. near Vic Edwards Drive. A sedan heading east on Fruitville tried to make a left turn in front of the westbound motorcycle, throwing the rider into the air as he slammed into the car’s right side, according to a crash report from the FHP.
