On October 29, 2025, the Bradenton Police Department began investigating a burglary attempt at Beer, Wine and Smoke at 4240 Cortez Rd W. The incident happened at about 2:49 a.m. when a suspect broke the front door and tried to reach the register. The suspect left after the alarm went off.
