SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Big changes could be coming to multiple schools in the Sarasota County School District.
On Tuesday during a workshop, the school board presented a future-focused strategic initiative that would create changes for 12 underutilized schools: Alta Vista Elementary, Booker Middle School, Brentwood Elementary, Brookside Middle School, Brookside Middle School, Emma E. Booker Elementary, Gulf Gate Elementary, Fruitville Elementary, Heron Creek Middle School, McIntosh Middle School, Oak Park School, Venice Middle School, and Wilkinson Elementary. In total, that’s more than 5,600 seats not utilized.
