SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A strong solar storm or coronal mass ejection hit Earth’s upper atmosphere Tuesday at 8:20 p.m. This according to NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center, It has hit with more energy than predicted has now upgraded this storm to the 4th highest level of 5 levels…G4.
People reported seeing the Northern Lights as far south as North Florida last night, and some people here said they were able to see it through the screen on their smartphones.
This storm may cause a major disturbance in Earth’s magnetic field, often varying in intensity between lower levels and severe storm conditions over the course of the entire event
The event is expected to last through Friday, with the most intense part of the storm early Wednesday night through Thursday morning…
