SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Sarasota Police Department warned drivers to avoid an intersection after a gas leak on Monday.

Officers said the leak occurred on the 800 block of Benjamin Franklin Drive.
The department has warned drivers to avoid the area of Cleveland Drive and Harrison Drive. A detour route was set up through the Boulevard of the Presidents.
“We are expecting this area to be closed for an extended period of time,” the department said.
