SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Tuesday, an update to the fatal crash at the intersection of US 301 and Northgate Boulevard. Aramis Jerome Harrison, 38, has pleaded guilty to 20 years in state prison for his role in the crash.
On April 23, 2024, a devastating traffic crash occurred, prompting a traffic homicide investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred when Harrison, driving vehicle 1, was observed traveling southbound on US 301 at an excessive speed. When Harrison approached the red traffic signal at Northgate Boulevard, he failed to stop.
At the same time, vehicle 2 was proceeding eastbound on Northgate Boulevard, entering the intersection lawfully on a green light. Vehicles 3, 4, and 5 were all stopped on northbound US 301 at the red traffic signal…
