A Sarasota man was arrested for assault after following his mother into a friend’s house uninvited and threatening to get a gun.
The mother of 42-year-old Joshua Shawn Maxfield came home from visiting her husband in the ICU to find their son in the driveway unannounced on Saturday evening, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
She did not stop, as his history of aggressive behavior made her afraid of him. She instead passed her residence and drove straight to a friend’s house. She texted her friend when she got there, saying she was scared because Maxfield followed her, the report said.
The friend immediately called 911 as he came into her home uninvited behind his mother. He proceeded to be verbally aggressive and intimidating toward his mother. He also ripped a Simply Safe alarm sensor off the back side of the front door, which was later valued at $50, the report said…
