Driver dies in fiery Thanksgiving crash on I-75 in Venice

VENICE, Fla. (WFLA) — One person was killed in a fiery crash on I-75 over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27 as a driver was heading north on I-75, near mile marker 190-191 in Venice, according to officials.

Troopers said, for an unknown reason, the driver traveled off the highway, entered the grass shoulder and crashed into a bridge pillar for South Moon Drive.
