2 critically injured in Gulfport hit-and-run, police seeking information

GULFPORT, Fla. (WFLA) — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said two people were critically injured in a hit-and-run that occurred Friday evening.

Police were notified of the crash at around 7:20 p.m. after they received multiple 911 calls about two people lying in the road at the intersection of Gulfport Blvd. and Luana Lane South.

First responders arrived to find a 61-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman critically injured after being struck while riding an electric scooter.

PCSO said it appears the pair was hit from behind by a car, which did not stop to render aid and continued eastbound on Gulfport Blvd.
