MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County commissioners on Dec. 2 discussed joining the state’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative (DOGE) as the first county to take part in an AI pilot program aimed at improving government efficiency. The pilot would use the same dataset that the county previously submitted to the state to review for duplication and potential efficiency gains. County staff said Manatee County was invited to participate after it expressed interest in October.
Polytech, a firm with prior public-sector experience and tools for analyzing large datasets and project information, is the proposed partner for the pilot.
