Warm and Dry for Santa

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – We’ve had a huge rollercoaster of humidity since Friday. Friday was humid with dew points up to 73°. Much drier air has settled in for Saturday morning, with dew points near 43° to start the day. By midday Sunday, the dew point climbs back to 65°, and we’ll hold dew points near 60° for the coming week.

So far, we have had 11 days at 80° or higher this December. We will add to that number as we move on to Christmas Day. Our average high for December 25th is 74°. Our record high is 85°, most recently in 2016. We’ll land in the middle for Christmas Day 2025 with a high near 80°.

Weak La Niña conditions continue into January, which means our warm and dry weather pattern will continue. Back in 2016, when we set the Christmas record high of 85°, that was a year with a very strong La Niña, which gave us even warmer temps. We set record highs on December 24th, 25th, and 26th in 2016 (highs were 85°, 85°, and 86° respectively…
