Former teacher arrested for stalking 5th grader, sending her inappropriate letter

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A former Manatee County teacher has been arrested months after officials said he wrote one of his fifth-grade students an inappropriate letter.

Jarrett Williams, 35, was taken into custody on Monday, Dec. 22 for aggravated stalking of a child under 16 years of age, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office submitted a capias to the State Attorney’s Office in May, and after review, authorities chose to issue a warrant for Williams’ arrest.
