Manatee Memorial Hospital was filled with holiday spirit and heartfelt moments today as members of the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment – Rough Riders, joined by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Rick Wells, and representatives of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department, made a special delivery that went straight to the heart.
Arms full of teddy bears and hearts full of generosity, the group delivered hundreds of cuddly companions to be shared with pediatric therapy patients, children visiting the Emergency Department, and patients who simply needed an extra hug. These soft bears may be small, but the comfort they provide is immeasurable.
For children facing therapy sessions, unexpected ER visits, or a tough day in the hospital, a teddy bear can offer reassurance, warmth, and a sense that someone cares.
