SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Organizations throughout Sarasota County are expanding services for people experiencing homelessness as a cold front moves across the Suncoast.
Resurrection House, a day center serving unhoused individuals, is preparing for increased demand as temperatures drop. The center provides meals, clothing, showers, laundry and counseling resources.
“These are human beings,” said Joe Lucero, operations manager at Resurrection House. “Nobody wants to be homeless. It’s not a choice, it’s something that has come up over the years.”…
