SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Three months after implementing the Big Bin Advantage trash collection system, Manatee County is hosting its first community cleanup event this weekend to help residents dispose of items that don’t fit in their weekly bins.
The county will hold drop-off events Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at two locations: Parrish Community Park off Fort Hamer Road and a second site in Myakka. Residents can bring furniture, appliances, tires, recyclables and yard waste free of charge.
“We’re hearing a lot of feedback from our customers and from our residents,” said Jim Rennenberg, Manatee County Utilities deputy director. “We’re trying to adapt. We’re listening to ideas that they have.”…
