Manasota Key Road is expected to be fully repaired by Summer 2029, following damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The county announced on Monday that the road has reopened after a portion north of Blind Pass Park was fixed, a project that included “hurricane debris removal, establishment of a new base, shoreline hardening, asphalt pavement, and pavement markings.”
The total project cost for the full repair is about $6.4 million, with about 82% funded by the Florida Department of Transportation and the rest by Sarasota County. The plans were approved by a unanimous vote by the county commission on Tuesday…
