74-year-old Bradenton man killed after being struck on U.S. 41

A 74-year-old Bradenton man was killed Friday night after being struck by a car while attempting to cross U.S. 41 in Bradenton.

The crash happened around 9:48 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 41 and 51st Avenue Drive W. Troopers said a sedan driven by a 24-year-old woman from Palmetto was traveling south on U.S. 41 when the pedestrian entered the travel lanes in front of the vehicle. The front of the car struck the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the FHP…
