SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Sarasota County deputies are in the middle of a campaign aimed at educating parents and teens on the rules surrounding e-motos or electric motorcycles.
This comes after deputies have seen an uptick in the electric vehicles around the area and an increase in complaints from the public.

E-motos are not street legal and are not the same as e-bicycles. They cannot be ridden on public roads, parks, sidewalks, or bike lanes.
“I don’t think most of the parents realize that these things are not legal for them to ride. Unless you have property or acreage somewhere where you can set up an area for your kids to ride these things, they are not legal,” said Sgt. Sam Lutz…
