VENICE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Venice City Council has decided to slow down a restoration to Humphris Park damaged in the 2024 hurricanes.
“It’s a really special place for people that live here,” said Ann Hagar, a resident and previously a regular to the park located at the entrance to the south Jetty.

“Sitting over there and looking at it, it looks very sad to see the way it looks now and that it has to stay that way for a long time,” Hagar said.The city demolished what was left of the park after hurricanes Helene and Milton to make room for reconstruction, but city leaders said their plans changed after crunching the numbers.
“This is not a good expenditure of taxpayer money as much as many of us would love to see something done out there,” said Vice Mayor Jim Boldt in a meeting Tuesday…
